It’s the first time Tonight Show host Fallon has hosted the Golden Globes, that has long been the domain of British comic Ricky Gervais.
And the SNL alum got off to a rocky start after his teleprompter failed at the start of the live telecast from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills Sunday night.
Ironically, he ended the five minute pre-taped opener discussing how nervous he was about the hosting gig with Justin Timberlake before running through the stage door into the star-studded ballroom.
Later, he quipped he’d just got off the phone with Mariah Carey who told him Dick Clark Productions had ‘sabotaged his monologue.’
